Gears of War Remaster Incoming!
According to a source speaking with Polygon, Brink developer Splash Games will be heading the development of a Gears of War remaster for Xbox One. The Xbox one version of the game will sport updated visuals, improved lighting effects and upgraded textures, as well as reworked cut-scenes. Like most remasters for new-gen consoles, the Gears of War remaster will boast 60 frames per second. Earlier this year, something called a Marcus Phoenix collection had been rumored for the One. It may not be a collection but fans of the series will still be receiving a portion of that dream.
Halo 5 Box Art and Limited Edition Console Confirmed!
Microsoft has revealed the official box art for the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians. The artwork pits Master Chief against the new Spartan Locke with a number of Spartans on each side of the box. It appears Microsoft and 343 remain tight lipped on the story elements regarding these new Spartans, but they did in fact reveal there will be a limited edition Halo 5 console incoming. Studio head Josh Holmes has revealed the news via Twitter, answering a fans question regarding the possible console. “There is a limited edition console coming, yes. It hasn’t been revealed yet, but it’s pretty sweet,” Holmes replied.
Lifeless Planet Release Date Announced!
Originally launching on the PC in 2014, Lifeless Planet will finally be making its way onto the One. The game, part of the [email protected] program to bring games to the Xbox One, will be available to download starting May 13. The game features an astronaut navigating a planet formally inhabited by Soviets. The third-person action adventure game relies heavily on the players ability to navigate the planet and solve a number of puzzles.
Xbox 360 Update Brings Key Features!
The lastest Xbox 360 has begun rolling out to users. The update brings with it some of the most demanded features fans have been looking for since the system launched. For one, the 360 now supports up to 2TB of external memory, a feature that many have been hoping the console would receive. This means you can hook up an external hard drive of up to 2TB, a huge step up from the maximum 500GB internal hard drive that’s available. Along with that, you can now check your purchase history through your account settings, a new “forgot password” feature making it easier to change passwords and new network settings that allow you to check network speeds.
Games With Gold Revealed For May!
Microsoft has revealed this month’s games part of the Games With Gold program. Xbox One users will be able to download CastleStorm, a 2D physics destruction game, and Pool Nation FX all month long. Remember, for those on 360, you can download reserve these One games from your 360 dashboard. For Xbox 360 users, Mafia II and F1 2013 will be available from May 1-15 and 16-31, respectively.
